Jaya Super Singer South India

Jaya Super Singer South India is a reality competition for singing in the Tamil language. The aim of the program is to discover and encourage playback singing talents in South India. Ramco Symonds and Ramco Supergrade are the main sponsors and the show powered by The Chennai Silks.

The first stage is open auditions were conducted in various places in all the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. At this stage, the contestants sing one song or two before a panel of judges in preliminary auditions. They decide spontaneously if the contestant demonstrated and proved enough of their talents and abilities and performance value to proceed further. When the judges feel that the contestant exhibited his or her exceptional ability in the performance the judges award them a "ticket" which move them instantly one step forward in the competition. If the judges have doubt about the singing ability of the contestant, they will place the contestant on a waitlist until the end of that day's auditions. If they feel that the contestant lacks the ability and performance which is needed to proceed further, then the contestant will be rejected.
